Refund Policy

This policy explains when and how refunds are issued for course enrollments on JM Learns, operated by Joytek Motion Ltd. Our refund policy is tiered based on when you request the refund, relative to the course start date.

Refund Tiers

Tier 1: Before Course Starts (95% Refund)

If a course has not yet started, you may request a refund at any time before the scheduled start date. You will receive 95% of the enrollment fee. The remaining 5% is a non-refundable processing fee that covers payment gateway charges and administrative costs that are non-recoverable regardless of whether the service is used.

This tier applies from the moment of enrollment right up until the course start date and time.

Tier 2: Within 48 Hours After Course Starts (50% Refund)

If the course has begun but fewer than 48 hours have elapsed since the course start date, you may still request a refund. In this case, you will receive 50% of the enrollment fee. The remaining 50% is retained to compensate the tutor for content preparation and initial course delivery, and to cover processing costs.

This tier reflects that meaningful access to the course has begun, while still recognising that you may have had limited time to assess its suitability.

Tier 3: After the Refund Window Closes (No Refund)

The refund window closes 3 days (72 hours) after the course start date. Once the refund window has closed, no refund is available regardless of the reason, including:

  • Change of mind
  • Personal scheduling conflicts
  • Finding an alternative course
  • Dissatisfaction with course quality (see dispute process below)
  • Non-attendance of live sessions

If you believe there was a significant misrepresentation in the course listing, please contact us — such situations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Processing Fee Explained

The processing fee (5% for pre-start refunds) covers payment gateway charges and administrative costs that are incurred at the time of payment and are non-recoverable by us. This is not a cancellation penalty — it reflects the actual costs we cannot recoup when a payment is reversed.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] with:

  • Your full name and registered email address
  • The course name and enrollment date
  • The reason for your refund request (optional, but helpful)

We will confirm your eligibility based on the refund window timing at the moment your request is received. Refund requests must be submitted before the applicable deadline — requests received after the deadline will not be processed.

Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds are processed within 7–14 business days to your original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer once we initiate the refund from our end.

What Happens When a Refund Is Approved

When a refund is approved:

  • Your enrollment is cancelled
  • Your access to the course content, resources, and live sessions is revoked
  • The tutor's earnings for your enrollment are adjusted accordingly
  • The refund amount is returned to your original payment method

Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a bank dispute or chargeback. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us:

  • Delays resolution significantly (chargebacks typically take 60–90 days, versus our 7–14 day processing)
  • Results in automatic suspension of your enrollment and account pending investigation
  • May lead to permanent account termination if the chargeback is found to be without merit
  • Triggers dispute fees that we may pursue recovery of in cases of fraudulent claims

We maintain comprehensive transaction records and actively dispute invalid chargebacks. If you have a legitimate concern, we will resolve it faster through direct contact than through your bank's dispute process.

No Partial Refunds Beyond Defined Tiers

Refunds are only available at the rates defined in the tiers above. We do not offer partial refunds for:

  • Missed individual sessions within a course
  • Unused course resources or materials
  • Personal preferences about course format or teaching style

Course Quality Concerns

If you have concerns about the quality or accuracy of a course, please report them to [email protected]. We review all quality complaints and will work with the tutor to address legitimate issues. In cases of significant misrepresentation, we may review refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis outside the standard tiers.
