HS: Biology SS1 - First Term

Learn it. Drill it. Beat the boss.

Biology doesn’t have to mean cramming notes the night before a test. This course turns the full SS1 First Term curriculum into a learning game, with short lessons, plenty of practice, and challenges that get harder as you get better. It follows the NERDC Senior Secondary curriculum, and every question is built on what the scheme of work covers.

What you’ll learn

Across 11 units, you’ll cover everything in the first term:

1. Laboratory safety rules, PPE and safety procedures
2. First aid and how to respond to lab emergencies
3. Laboratory equipment, the light microscope and biological drawing
4. ICT in Biology and how to use it responsibly
5. Biology as a science, its branches and the scientific method
6. The characteristics of living things
7. Classification: naming, kingdoms, plants, animals and modes of nutrition

How it works

1. Bite-sized tutorials. 67 short lessons of about 3–5 minutes, each teaching one new idea, with worked examples, exam traps and quick checks as you go.
2. Practice that sticks. 140 drills follow the lessons, so every idea gets practised several times in different ways until it sinks in.
3. Side quests with three tiers. Key topics have Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced challenges. Advanced tiers test real understanding with real-life situations, spot-the-error questions and multi-step problems.
4. Boss battles. A Mid-Term mini boss and a Final Boss bring together everything from the term, matching the format of real school tests and exams.
5. Real lab diagrams. Label the microscope, tap the parts of an insect, complete the fire triangle and trace photosynthesis on clear, purpose-made diagrams.
6. Lab Missions. Every practical is covered step by step: what’s on the bench, what you should observe, why it happens, and the precautions examiners ask about.
7. Learn from every mistake. All 2,415 questions come with a short explanation, so a wrong answer still teaches you something.
8. Exam ready. Theory practice turns Section B exam questions into steps you can master, preparing you for school exams, WAEC and NECO.
